A couple of big outs on the list.

Re: Ins and Outs
Brand is a good start to our Recruiting, however we have a mountain of work to do to become competitive next year.
I think we need
1. A Key Forward
2. Three quality Mids
3. An experienced Ruckman
4. A running half back
What do others think we need?

Re: Ins and Outs
I think we need a lot more than that.
Murphy and Stevens were probably 2 of our top 5.
I think we need 8 or 9 players to just get us competitive.
Apart from Keough, I don’t think we have another A Grade player on our list.
We need the biggest off season we’ve ever had which is going to be unlikely given the ridiculous salary cap

Re: Ins and Outs
I think we have several good players, but nowhere near enough.
I'd put Ryan, Dunkin, Duval, Hill, Boyle and others as good SANFL players.
Our 2020 B & F hardly played this year, so will be a good addition, along with Brand, of course.
On the other hand, I hope Jonno Beech finds form.
We then have several players who may develop - Ellem, Redfern & Co
Then there's the youngsters - Chamberlain, Lemmey, etc.
But we're a long way short and will need good recruits, as we've lost a good defender and our best midfielder (seems young for Kaine to retire) and were already a long way off the pace.
When I watched the finals, the gap in talent to us was scary.

Re: Ins and Outs
With Stevens and Lovell gone we now don’t have a midfield.
We don’t have any League Standard ruckman.
Tom Keough is our only key forward that can kick goals
Lucky the season doesn’t start for 6 months.
Our current group of players wouldn’t win a game!!

Yes he was at the B & F, so hopefully he'll be staying.
Had heard from several people he was going so let's wait and see if anything announced.

Some people like to post they know about a rumour with out saying the rumour
I’m not that type.
Regarding Lee’s quote above.
I’ve heard he’s another out for next year?
Bloody hope not.

Departures
As announced at the B&F, Nathan Batley and Kaine Stevens have announced their retirement from SANFL football and Tom Murphy will be heading back home to Victoria. Also departing the club is another premiership player, Josh Schiller, after 118 League games and a key member and leader of the team he will not be going on at the Bloods in 2022.
Other departures:
Hamish Gordon
Hayden Elliot
Luke Heitman
Kieran Lovell
Kyle Martin
Cooper Gilbert
Angus Rana
Zac Wooldridge
The club would like to thank all the players who are departing and wish them all the very best in the future.
Arrivals
As announced at the B&F, the club was delighted to sign Kaiden Brand for the next two seasons along with the following players for 2022:
Josh Carmichael – A strong midfielder who trained with the club in the preseason before going back to play for Merbein in the Sunraysia Football League where he was voted as the Best Player in the competition for 2021. Wins his own football, has an elite work rate and makes excellent decisions with ball in hand.
Liam Delahunty – Previously in the GWS Academy before going to Port Melbourne this year. This versatile interceptor defender can play tall or small, Liam has a great football IQ and excellent skills. We have been working on getting him to West Adelaide for the last 18 months and it is great to finally get him to the club for 2022.
Michael Mattingly – A high quality goal kicking mid fielder with elite foot skills on both sides of his body. Michael represented NSW/ACT at U18 level before moving to the VFL to play with Coburg. For the past 3 years he has starred for Kyabram in the Goulburn Football League winning the league’s best and fairest in 2019. Michael commented “Playing SANFL is something I’ve been interested in for a long time, and I’ve had a great relationship with West Adelaide for a number of years now. I’m keen to play a role and assist the club in climbing up the ladder”.
Bayleigh Welsh – The captain of the Dandenong Stingrays in the NAB League this year gone, will be a 20YO next year. One of the best characters you will find in the NAB League, is a quality player with some amazing traits, if it wasn’t for a couple of small setbacks this year he would be drafted for sure. We hope he still gets drafted but if he doesn’t he will be at the club next year to continue his development. He has elite skills, plays across half back and reads the game exceptionally well.
Clayton Gay – Another Dandenong Stingray boy from this year, Clayton will come across with Bayleigh and continue to develop should he not get drafted this year. A 20YO next year and someone who was one of the best players in the country at 16. He is a classy player with an elite left foot kick, someone that knows where the goals are and also makes excellent decisions with ball in hand.
Blair Rubock – A player with huge X factor, the club has been working to get Blair for the last 18 months and were delighted to land him for 2022. He played in Tassie for Clarence in 2019 before heading to the QAFL in 2020 and 2021 where he played with Labrador. Blair is a small pressure forward who runs sub 11 seconds for 100m and is dangerous in front of goal. He has an amazing spring and has taken some massive marks in recent years which provides some added excitement to his game.

Re: Ins and Outs
Hard to gauge the quality of those recruits right now but good to get some early signings.
Hopefully more names will be added. To both lists.

Re: Ins and Outs
At least we are being proactive.
Delahunty and Mattingly seem capable, the jury is out on the others.
Given the players we have lost, I think it’s fair to say we need to recruit better quality players than the ones we have signed today, if we are to make an impact next year.

Re: Ins and Outs
Well, it's good that some recruits have been named early. A couple of young lads hopefully will develop over the next year or two, a couple of the others should be handy for depth.
We need to add at least 2 or 3 top players, but that's not easy for recruiters to achieve.

We are miles off the pace.
We’ve lost some real quality with Stevens, Murphy and Lovell.

Re: Ins and Outs
It’s great to announce these recruits.
But doesn’t feel me with any confidence
Hard to say, but at this stage with what we have lost and what we have gained.
Are better then the 2 win team we were this year? I can’t say confidently that we are

Re: Ins and Outs
Hamish Hartlett would be helpful, just to give some experience and leadership, but if he has a Crows offer, that would be hard to beat. Adam at the Club should help.
Apart from that, we need a midfield.

Re: Ins and Outs
With the exception of Brand all those players are from lesser leagues than the SANFL. While they might be really good pickups / future stars we don't know that. We need some ready made SANFL talent next year just to be competitive.
I hope they are still coming.

Re: Ins and Outs
The reality is that we need ex AFL players on our list for next year.
Brand is a good start but we need a few more.
We won 2 games this year and right now our squad is significantly worse than when the season finished.
