Ins and Outs 2023
Here's the spot for all ins and outs for 2023, whether fact or rumour.
First up is whispers thst Abe Davis from Sturt might be headed our way.
Good player, but his best footy might be behind him and he might be expensive.
Only rumoured on another site and I hope It's incorrect.

Re: Ins and Outs 2023
I do hope we are talking to Chris Burgess despite his excellent form in the VFL, and perhaps Josh Smithson and maybe even Aaron Francis? Maybe.. yes a long shot...but. Anyone else on the maybe to be delisted list?

Re: Ins and Outs 2023
Sounds like Chris Burgess will get at least a one year contract
With Gold Coast or better elsewhere. Good luck to him. Not good news though for the Bloods.

'Regret and surprise'. Interesting choice of words.

Not a good start to 2023….
Maybe Adam Hartlett doesn’t get the Coaching Job…..
I would have thought Hamish would have stuck around for another year if Adam was coach in 2023.
Hamish will probably play for the Power 2s in the SANFL…

Re: Ins and Outs 2023
we have lost 2 senior experienced players so far --- 2 more perhaps --- this is the concern that must be addressed.
reference Hamish i wish him well but i believe (could be wrong) that pay as afl development officer is separate to sanfl salary cap --- how can we and other clubs compete

Re: Ins and Outs 2023
Aldo I agree with you regarding the choice of words by the club.
It’s disappointing Hamish has moved on, but he needs to think of his future and to be honest if we are relying on him then the club is going no where.
Hopefully the club can use Hartlett’s salary to Recruit a very good player.

Re: Ins and Outs 2023
Did Hamish announce it publicly at the B & F?
If not, was that why the 'surprise'?

Re: Ins and Outs 2023
Never going to build a decent team when constantly losing better players each off season.
Bit of a theme at West, off field as well as on regarding turnover, never a good sign IMO.
The lack of communication is also alarming, read what Centrals put out to members on another forum, its like chalk and cheese to West these days. I think we can all be considered Mushrooms at west these days, kept in the dark and fed BS.

Re: Ins and Outs 2023
I agree Loppy. Our website is appalling and has been for years. Have a look at the articles on it. Some of them are years old. Hardly any of them are news worthy let alone advising the members where we are at and how we are going. Most amateur clubs do far better. Our club unfortunately has become a joke both on and off the field. You only have to talk to opposition supporters to know that. A common question they ask is what has happened to you guys? We might not have won as many premierships as Port, Norwood, North, etc but that was mainly due to being in a zone of retirees. But in Doug's day we held our own around the SANFL table. No more they now tell us what to do and how the club should be structured and run. I fear this will kill us off eventually.

Re: Ins and Outs 2023
As for Hamish good luck to him. We are never going to compete with a full time job as an AFL assistant coach. He has to look after his best interests. Any SANFL player in any club would do the same I'm sure.
