to put a positive spin on it.....
if Hartlett plays through the NT season uninjured*, he'll be match fit for the start of Westies 2023 season!
*wishful thinking

Re: season 2023
In fairness there is something wrong at his age if we are relying on Hamish carrying us through 2023.
If match fit and still playing well then great but he is not the future. We really should be playing up coming kids and recruiting a few key players instead.

Maybe, Hamish will identify some possible recruits during the NTFL season.
Good luck to our U18 lads during the draft period, but a real blow if we lose them all. As has been pointed out, these lads would have formed the backbone of our club for years to come, and for once we had some height amongst the group. It was also noticeable how well they combined in Saturday's Reserves Semi-Final.
I hope we get an official communication from the club soon. Members shouldn't have to rely on this forum and Facebook comments for essential information.

Re: season 2023
A very disappointing Reserves final, a 7 goal loss.
Thought Ryan, Redfern, Bock and one or two others were good, but several who played League this year struggled at Reserves Finals level in a poor standard game.
Scully looks a player, but AFL bound, Steele was we beaten in ruck but will develop nicely.
Not many future league players to be seen, unfortunately?

Re: season 2023
No surprise in the result.
Sturt were Minor Premiers and a far superior side. They won 14 out of 18 games and were too good.
From that side, Scully, Lemmey, Ryan and Steene will be drafted.
I think there are 5 or 6 players from the 2s that could play regular league footy next year.
As we seem to say every year, we need some new talent in the off season……

Re: season 2023
The problem is that about 18 of that Reserves side that lost by 7 goals had played League this year.
A few will improve sufficiently to play good league footy next year, but most aren't up ro the level, unfortunately.

Re: season 2023
Ryan has been a standout in the finals series and Scully has been good in his 2 appearances and will be drafted
Lemmey whilst having a poor year will be drafted along with Barnett.
Steene is likely as well due to the lack of Ruck depth in this years draft.
Mind you He may not be tall enough to be a Ruckman in the AFL.
The club would have known for a long time these players would be drafted and I really hope they are scouring the nation to obtain a number of quality recruit to the club.
