Well done lee and porps the man is our football manager and as such even the coaches answer to him == during this season amongst other things he has been runner for the reserves ans undertaken a multitude of other match day on field roles well over and above what could be fairly expected === i rate this man as a close team mate loved by the players
Sorry bunds while i respect and support your right as a supporter to have an opinion on this one i disagree with you

I too can Vouch for Jason's comments above.
When I went to the Riverland earlier this year representing our club, the amount of positive comments about our club and Andrew (and his support and association) was remarkable.
A decade ago we were smirked at and had little respect in this zone. I have family that have lived in Waikerie for 40 years and still teach at the high school where players have often been schooled before coming to out great club. Even on GF day, Russell Ebert commented on how great our club is in the Mallee and Riverland. Russell was overwhelmingly positive about our club and the work we do with the country boys.... This is no accident and is still something we are tweaking and looking to improve - Andrew is a key component of this.
While I respect differences of opinions, perhaps social media is not always the best platform to air opinions. Hopefully this insight may be beneficial too.
It was also great to see Malcolm at the Chimney Celebrations today! What a champion bloke... Also great to see many other Westies people I haven't seen for many years - Even some who were once banned from the club for a period - Welcome back to the fold.

I respect your opinion Bundy and I understand where you're coming at, but the amount of time and effort he has put into this club, he most certainly isn't a glory seeker.
Without the effort from guys like Marksy, FB, Lee, Thiele and a lot of others, this club would be dead.
Anyway back to the topic on hand. It is finally starting to sink in that we did it.
Seriously thought that I would never see a premiership in my lifetime (was born about a week after the 83 premiership).
Hopefully there are many more to come.
Go You Mighty Bloods!!!!!!

Re: West Adelaide Football Club 2015 SANFL Premiers!
I will be taking down the photo. Luke is a good poster and I understand he meant it only as a joke, but just stop and have a think, people.
We have just won a premiership. We've waited a long time, a very long time. 99.9% of us have celebrated and it's been more special because loyalty has been rewarded. The loyalty of following our team through tough times so often. Over the last two days I've seen so many happy people and I've seen a lot of tears too. I've seen older people full of emotion because their team, the team they've followed probably all of their lives, has given them a premiership, a premiership they possibly thought they might never see.
And why did we win a premiership? Because of some marvellous coaches, great support staff, dozens of volunteers, but mostly because we had a talented and happy group of players who believed in themselves and put everything on the line for themselves, for us and for our football club.
Every one of those players had to overcome something to do that. Injuries, family pressures, balancing new family with football, personal problems, expectation and so many other difficulties and hurdles.
They got support. From their teammates, from club professionals and staff, but in almost every case, from Andrew Marks. They trusted that support, they sought it and it was always given unconditionally, whether it was 2pm or 2am.
Our team this year are all quality people. They're a happy team and it's not by accident. A lot of hard work and understanding has gone into that.
So we've won a premiership. I looked at the premiership photo and was rapt for the players. I felt for those not selected, shared their pain and admired their support and I was so pleased for our coach, a West Adelaide legend and a grest man.
And I saw another man in the photo. A man who belonged in that photo and a man I admire and thank for his passion and his huge contribution to our success. I didn't see any clowns, just great people.
We're a family, we won a premiership and we're going to celebrate that, not nitpick and whinge.
Thanks Andrew, as Jason says, we know why the players wanted you to share the day.

Re: West Adelaide Football Club 2015 SANFL Premiers!
Absolutely stoked! Just joined up to ask the same question about a team photo. I really need a photo with coach and players only for my dad's (85 years old and life long fan) footy room. Never in the history of the game do I recall anyone but players and senior coach in this significant photo. I'm actually pretty peeved that I can't find one from the day with only them in it. I've tried photoshopping it so if anyone manages to do it properly please email it to me.
Don't accept the excuses given here. Many people at the club put their heart and soul into it all year including assistants and board members but you don't find them sticking their heads into the team pic. It's about the players and coach on the day and I'm really disappointed not to have a pic.

Pretty disappointed to to be told that my dad isn't a real supporter as he has no idea who this bloke is. He's 85 year old and had been a westies supporter all his life. Been to the last 3 premierships including Sunday.

I'm sure Porps was only referring to those who were complaining. Nobody is expecting your dad to lnow.
Welcome to the forum, lachy and best wishes to your dad. A great supporter.

Re: West Adelaide Football Club 2015 SANFL Premiers!
Spot on Bundy. Every die hard fan has this post match team pic and every club has it in their trophy cabinet and the common denominator is that it is the COACH and the PLAYERS only. Like Bundy said, no one will know who this guy is in years time yet it's the most significant post match photo that we have. Please do something about it WAFC and release a photo with players and coach only. Several of my mates want one too.

Once again 100% right.Good to see a least we have the guts to say team and coach only and not hide behind a skirt.I want to laminate mine but with him in it.

Re: West Adelaide Football Club 2015 SANFL Premiers!
It's not just us Bundy. Several of my mates were also surprised and I'm sure as the adrenalin wears off many others will want one with players and coach only. People are on a winning high atm but at the end of the day this is their day. If we allow him in we should allow every player who contributed over the season plus the board and other support staff. Sorry it doesn't work that way. Players and coach only. Consider the future history.

Re: West Adelaide Football Club 2015 SANFL Premiers!
Bundy, if you want to keep on with this, please start another thread.
I think a thread about our first premiership for 32 years shouldn't be taken over by complaints about the premiership photo.

Hi Lee. I'm not interested in going about this in another thread. I just want the club to do the photoshop and release a photo with players and coach only please. I tried but am no good on photoshop. I sent messages via facebook about his but no one got back to me so came here. I just really want a great pic with coach and players, thanks!

Re: West Adelaide Football Club 2015 SANFL Premiers!
C'mon everyone. Let's just celebrate our amazing victory. I am 39 years old, and go to watch the mighty bloods every week. Have done so for 25 years.
I love the club and am stoked for everyone involved.
Premierships are won by Everyone contributing.
Coach, Players, Support Staff, Volunteers, Members and Supporters.
I am sure the club will have plenty of memorabilia to come in due course.
It's only 2 days after the game!!!
Congratulations to The Mighty Bloods!!!!!!
The Chimney looks awesome too!!!!

Interesting that my post on facebook was finally replied to after posting on here. Not a great look calling life long members not true supporters and accusing them of not going to games after my dad's support all these years. Very disappointed.

Re: West Adelaide Football Club 2015 SANFL Premiers!
Read Jason's post again. He was obviously not referring to your dad or supporters on general.
I think it is now time to move on and celebrate the premiership. People can contact the club.
No more photo posts here, please. I think we'd all rather talk about Beechy's marks or Logan Hill's job on McGregor or the class and skill of Schmitty and Porps.
I know I would.

Re: West Adelaide Football Club 2015 SANFL Premiers!
Do people have the same issue with coaches who come down from the coaches box before the game's over and congratulate those at ground level? It's just passion and exuberance isn't it? I think opposition supporters would understand a bit of impatience after 32 years.
By the way, fantastic game Porps, I thought you were the most influential player on the ground. (But please note I'm not really Aldo Russian.)

No problem. Very happy to do it.

I was so wrapped watching haysman and Snelling go from u18 premiership 12 months ago to a league one a year later
I hope young turner and brind as well as homburg anderson And agostino get the ultimate reward a year from now as well
Well done to all those long term members and those who have joined or rejoined after a sabbatical. Great to build our membership which can only increase our chances of back to back.

i agree with aldo.but as individuals we are entitiled to our own opionions.as even though we support the same club passionately our views will be different.lets enjoy this period of success as one and discuss this issue later on.this victory is special to me. in ways it is special to other people. lets unite in one cause and that is our club and team.as a lot of us getting on in years so we must savor our victories positively.
