Round 2 v Adelaide at Richmond.
Team selection article up on the website, but can't see any teams?
I might have missed the link?
May, Frost, Mulady and Corbett in.
Marslen, Chamberlain, Boyle and Shepherd out.
Bit surprised with Chamberlain, thought Kennedy might miss out.

I thought Chamberlain was ok last week, Mattingly would be the player I would have dropped.
Kennedy has done very little in any of the matches including trials, perhaps he needed a run in the ressies to gain some confidence.
Can’t believe Corbett has been named as our lead Ruck,Marslen was ok last week.
We are so short all over the ground, hope we move the ball quickly.

Hopefully Adelaide will hold back a couple for the AFL team.

Much weaker Adelaide team than last week.

Chamberlains run last week was good
But every time he kicked it I had to close my eyes
One thing to take the game on, but if u can’t kick and give it back to opposition each time…
I can understand the decision

The Reserves trailed all day, but fought hard to go down by 9 points in a low scoring and poor standard affair.
Boyle and Chamberlain got a lot of it, but nobody stood out, although Bramich was good again and not sure why he's playing 2s.

Re: Round 2 v Adelaide at Richmond.
Half time and fingers crossed, with an 8 points lead.
We've been even better value than that, IMO, although the Crows missed some easy shots that quarter.
Stevens has been terrific, but there have been many y good players and the effort has been excellent.
We're getting predictably smashed in ruck, but not hurt in clearances until towards the end of that quarter.
Adelaide look like they thought they only had to turn up, so let's hope that attitude continues.
So far, happy with the effort and some good running play.

Crows dominated the last half of that quarter, through a total ruck and clearance domination.
A fair bit to like about how Adam is getting them to play.
Great to see Jono Beech with 3.
Looks tough from here, but hopefully they'll battle it out.

Re: Round 2 v Adelaide at Richmond.
A couple of late goals kept the margin to 33 points, 13.15 to 9.6.
Similar game in many ways to last week, fighting the gane out to the end and showing good signs, but the opposition having nearly double the scoring shots.
Still, we can see the core of a future team with several good players and a few worth persevering with, but unfortunately a few seemingly off the pace.
Ruck is a huge problem and clearances again heavily favoured the opposition. Hit outs were 52 to 11.
I thought Stevens first half, Morrish and Park all day, Ryan solid as always, while Frost will be an asset.
Glanville was quiet, but so were several others.
All in all, a lot of good signs against a highly rated opponent, but we look well short of perhaps the best 7 teams and might be thankful Port look weak, given Central's good form.

Re: Round 2 v Adelaide at Richmond.
lock in our 24th wooden spoon, only 3 behind South Adelaide.
we are currently half way to equaling Sturt's 8 consecutive spoons.
I genuinely believe we can achieve these goals if the club continues to voluntarily reduce the salary cap of the footy team.
Go Westies!

I know it was windy, but the goalkicking by both teams was deplorable.
I reckon 95% of the misses were to the right.

Re: Round 2 v Adelaide at Richmond.
Our effort was there again today, but not for the whole match.
Hartlett has the players trying to move the ball quickly which is good.
Our game style for the past 2 weeks has been better but we don’t have the cattle to maintain it for 4 qrts.
We should have been further in front at qrt time, but we don’t have any tall forwards who can take a mark.
Stevens, Park Morrish and Frost all played well.
Stevens was our only midfielder, Ryan and Glanville were quiet.
We have a number of half back flankers, Frost,Park,May,Boyle, Couroupis and Nicholls when he’s available.
I would really like Frost and Couroupis to be played in the midfield for an extended period, they mature bodies who use the ball well.
Boyle, Chamberlain,Couroupis and Bramich all played well in the ressies, I would bring them into the league side at the expense of Kennedy, Redfern May and Mattingly.

Adam's match report is up on the website.
I have to say it's refreshing to read an honest and meaningful game summary.

Agreed. Also, another positive sign is Paul Streatfield's Quarterly Update. This type of communication is essential in strengthening the relationship between the club and its supporters. Well done to Adam and Paul.
