Best comeback games.
I know a lot of you remember the 1983 game where we came from behind to beat Port at Richmond, but this game in the video highlights below its no 1 for me,
I think we were 8 or 9 goals down after the first qtr, then i think Port kicked the first goal in the 2nd quarter... slowly but surely we pegged them back.
Simmister's mark at the end to win the game was sensational. I can't remember a game where West were so far back and got up to win other than this game.
Also love the commentators call of Simmister's mark.

Football Park
WOODVILLE...6-5...9-13...13-19....14-22[106]
WEST ADEL ...3-1....7-6.....10-9....21-12 [138]
In all 3 matches, the team leading at 3/4 time lost
The two West Adel wins were from reasonably big deficits at 3/4 time
Woodvilles final scores in all 3 games are remarkably consistent
Woodville had more scoring shots in each game in 1979 yet West won the more games

RD3
1902
Unley Oval
ST...2-6...3-8...3-15...4-16 [40]
WA..1-1...1-5....1-8...5-12 [42]
The win is better than it looks, the seasons scores in 1902 we low
It was a very important win by WA , for 2 reasons
It was the only win for WA for the season
It was enough for WA to finish 2nd bottom[6th] and ST ended up bottom

Re: Best comeback games.
I can recall this match jotting down the scores from home during the match
RD15
Richmond Oval
25/71970
WA 1-2...3-7...3-13...9-20 [74]
NW 2-3..5-6....9-13...10-14 [74]
I had a special interest in this match
I was a WA barracker until the late 1960s
I was converted/brainwashed by family members to a NW barracker
So in a who listens to the radio day I wanted NW to win, albiet almost wanting WA to win
Yes , I took the draw !
WA 36 points down at 3/4 time, must have been a tremendous effort considering the low score lines
It was not surprising that WA could produce a stunning last qtr
In RD 6
Norwood Oval
NW 4-3...10-11...15-15...17-15[117]
WA 3-2....4-5......5-10....11-14[80]
So earlier in the season WA heavily outscored NW in the last qtr as well
WA finished 6th in 1970
NW only needed to win the last match of the season against PA at Alberton Oval to claim a finals berth
Remarkably NW 10-5 drew with PA 9-11 in a 2nd draw for the season for NW
The drawn game was not enough to get NW into the finals
I ended up miserable boy after listening to that match

Re: Best comeback games.
I think every one of those West goal-kickers and best players played League in their careers too.
'Williams' is probably Brent Williams, Crows draftee?
