As the title suggests, it seems the club is making announcements that Mark Mickan will coach West Adelaide next year...

If true he will be a hell of a lot better than McGregor. Apparently McGregor also presented very poorly to North.

West Adelaide Football Club draw on experience to take the club forward!
The West Adelaide Football Club are pleased to announce Mark Mickan as Senior Coach of the West Adelaide Football Club for the 2014/15 seasons.
Over the past 6 weeks the Club has undertaken an extensive recruiting process to ensure the selection of the best candidate to build on the team’s current position.
Mark’s impressive football experience spans over 30 years as an elite player, senior coach and football administrator.
A brief snapshot of Mark’s experience includes:

A very good appointment, Mark has an impressive cv & has been successful as a player & a coach. I would expect a more attacking game to be played. Let's hope the club can support him with some good recruiting providing we have some funds. Let's all get behind Mark & give him our full support. Roll on season 2014.

Fair enough - With the amount of $avings with staff over the past two seasons, we should start to turn things around off field

I would like to congratulate the club on this appointment. Quite apart from the quality and experience of the person named is the fact we have been the first of, possibly, five (real) SANFL clubs to name their 2014 coach. The coaching field available was not overly deep and I think the fact we made the decision first means we got the best man and is a strategic plus for the club. Well done to those concerned.
