WEST V Centrals. Empty WEST V Centrals.

Post by Guest Mon Sep 14, 2015 4:53 pm

Thoughts for this week?

Every time blackandredandblack have a love in on the forum I feel sick.
Out Fielkes.  In Agostino.
Out Hill.       In Newell.
Out Harts. (maybe)  In Hardy.

ST

I would also add Middleton as an out and if Francis is ok
He would be my replacement.
Wrong time of the year to get injuries.

We really need to step up this week and take the game on.
Centrals are not a high scoring team  and we need to play brave
Football and take risks. That's why we have been successful
This year.

Retzlaff and Jansen will be available for Central this week and they
Are big ins for them

If fit, I'd pick Milne for Fielke; Agostino for Hill; and Francis for Middleton.
Milne offers some flexibility and can kick goals. Beech to play up forward all game.

unfortunately middleton form in the last month has been below average apart from norwood match where he did play well. would bring back hardy as has shown he can be back up ruckman. that would allow us to play webb as tall forward.agostino and francis would be my other 2 in side.

Would be a risk to play Francis.
Has not played much footy in the past month.
Really nervous about this game. Centrals have been really impressive with their intensity, foot skills and pace.
They will probably be full strength.
We need quick ball movement and a big forward to clunk a few. Webby could be our man this week!!

When it comes to concussion, we are totally guided by the medical advice we are given.

Often when a player gets a concussion, it's not severe and the doctor might check them during the week and make a decision then.

Logan and Aaron were both taken to hospital and suffered severe concussions and required the applicable tests.

The strong medical advice to West was that they shouldn't play next week and we have a clear obligation to ensure they are medically cleared before we select them.

They are being continually monitored and our only concern right now is for their health.

Good question, though, cc. Thanks for the opportunity to clear it up.

Out Fielkes. In Agostino.
Out Hill. In Hardy.

Would love to see anyone try tell Harts he's not playing. I know he did not pull up to well from Monday night.

WEST
West Adelaide has been dealt a further blow with key defender Adam Hartlett ruled out of Sunday’s Preliminary Final against Central with a thigh injury.
A member of the Bloods’ leadership group, Hartlett hurt his quad during the first term of the Second Semi Final but continued to play in pain.
‘’He’s been fantastic for us particularly with his on-field discipline this year,’’ West football manager Andrew Marks said.
‘’He’s been displaying great leadership so he will certainly be missed.’’
The former Carlton player has been joined on the Bloods’ omission list with defender Logan Hill and classy forward Aaron Fielke, who have both been sidelined with concussion.
Ex-Glenelg utility Riley Milne looms as the direct replacement for Hartlett after being named at centre half-back.
‘’Riley can play tall or small and he can rebound off his opponent to provide some important drive for us,’’ Marks said.
Star midfielder Taite Silverlock is edging closer to a return from a hamstring strain suffered against Port in the Qualifying Final.
‘’As the week has gone by he’s getting closer to playing,’’ Marks said of Silverlock.
‘’But he’s got to train with the main group on Friday night first as he hasn’t managed that yet.’’
Should Silverlock not recover it could open the door for strong-bodied midfielder Jadyn Brind to make his League debut.
A member of the McDonald’s SA Under-18 team this year, Brind – from Roxby Downs – measures in at 180cm and 92kg.
His fellow State team-mate, Jack Agostino, looks certain to replace Hill in the back pocket while key position player Ben Klemke has been included on the extended interchange bench.

F: Haysman, Webb, Anderson
HF: Green, Tuck, Beech
C: Homburg, Stevens, Schiller
HB: Caire, Milne, Wasley-Black
B: Agostino, Keough, Helbig

R: Willits, Schmidt, Snelling
INT: Silverlock, Klemke, Middleton, Brind, Porplyzia
IN: Milne, Silverlock, Brind, Klemke, Agostino
OUT: Hill (concussion), Fielke (concussion), Hartlett (quad)

I wouldn't play a debutant in a prelim final.
Hartlett and Fielke are huge outs. Fielke has kicked 8 goals in 2 games against the dogs.

Happy with Milne and Agostino.
I would keep Middleton in the side now and if Silverlock doesn't get up, I would have gone with Newell.

While not our best team for the year it is good enough. Centrals have a team of players I have never heard of that plays good team football.
Thomas needs to be beat up early and those two blonde dudes need to be watched. Centrals have crap rucks. Stevens, Snelling and Schiller need better hands than they had last week and Schmidty needs to play the ball and lead by example.
Porps was on fire on Wednesday night at training and will dominate.
I would be very disappointed if we didn't win by 5 goals.

Firstly i'd like to congratulate the club on their third preliminary final in 4 years. Something to be proud of as a supporter. Especially after last year. That would put us only behind Norwood in performances over the last 4 years?
Having said this - unfortunately prelims aren't enough - it's flags we are after, and that is the culture that needs to be developed and maintained.
I have belief in the guys that they can go all the way - they have proven enough time this year that they are capable of playing the neccesary football to do that. If someone said earlier in the year that we would be left in the finals with the Eagles and Central (no Norwood or Port) then we would have taken that! We've beaten Centrals twice this year so that should give us some confidence - on top of that, the emotional and physical strain for them of having played 3 elimination finals straight with the hot weather last week might have been too much!
Go Bloods! Believe in yourselves!

I like the idea of playing Brind. I'd rather play a talented, strong-bodied goal-kicking first-gamer than any of our more experienced but less talented options whose limitations are already evident.
Anyway, if our senior players play well we should win. Good contributions from Middleton and Milne would also make a big difference.
