West v Centrals
They are bottom and are without Lange (who stitched us up last time) and now both Menzels. We badly need to win this one. And it would almost guarantee Centrals the spoon.

Nothing is more certain than Centrals winning this game.

Re: West v Centrals
Big ground at Elizabeth will enable fast ball movement and looking forward to seeing us continue to take more risks and take the game on. If the mids can lower their eyes to hit lead up targets inside 50 the rewards will flow. If we can do this .....Bloods by 29 points.

Well it’s hard to find a lot of optimism about our club at the moment.
We’ve won 3 from our past 26 matches.
Doesn’t give me a great deal of confidence

Full back Josh Ryan (shoulder) and half-back Elliot Dunkin (wrist) have made welcome returns to face the Bulldogs.
They have been joined in the Bloods’ 25-man squad by Kyle Kirk, Murray Waite and Lachie Squire.

Staggered Ellem has been dropped. We played our best footy last week when we had 2 big guys up forward to kick to. Gone from a game we should win to a 50/50 game now in my opinion.

Re: West v Centrals
I would have played Ellem for the rest of the year, he shows something and he is our future.
With Ryan returning I would have dropped Hupfeld who I have to admit has been ok at Full Back for the past 3 weeks.

Re: West v Centrals
I agree lachlan. And with Ellem and Thilthorpe up forward you could afford to play Keough on ball more, to try to get him into the game, as he's been very quiet the last few weeks.

Half time. The way our skills are it's hard to have confidence in us at the moment. We are capable of coughing up the ball to them all over the ground, even when under no pressure.

Heading for yet another wooden spoon, hopefully the club has plenty of fire extinguishers in case of a fire. Looks like 3 across all grades in 2020

Couldn’t believe my eyes that Central were paying $2.60 for the win.
The easiest money I’ve ever made.
This club is an absolute joke.

Only watched the 2nd half, turned it off after 30 mins. Don’t think I saw us go past halfway more than 3 times and each of those went straight to centrals. Ball seems to be on the ground a lot when we have possession too, like watching u6 level

Utterly appalling. Lazy, disorganised and unskilful.
If we didn't have a coach, and didn't train, that performance today is what you'd expect to see.

Re: West v Centrals
I couldn't go, but watched on the digital pass, where the sound was half a second ahead of the vision.
We played the bottom team who hadn't won a game and we looked a class below them in the second half. For the first time I can remember, I struggled to find any 'better' players at all.
I'm sure Gavin would be livid over such a listless performance. It's no good gilding the lily, that performance was so far off the pace it was embarrassing.
For the third week in a row, an opposition forward kicked four goals.
Let's hope we can fight out the season with efforts like the North game rather than this one.

I think most of us have had enough of the rubbish we put out there most weeks.
Our teams have won 1 game each across the 3 grades.
Absolutely appalling.
Where are we heading? Probably nowhere........

U18s won.
At half time we were down 7.2 to 2.4 and looked gone.
Won 7.11 to 7.5. Centrals scored 3pts in last half.

Re: West v Centrals
With a big ground at Elizabeth provided the ideal opportunity to stamp our game plan against an opposition that has not been travelling well. However, this opportunity went begging and I am now left wondering just what is our game plan? Is it one of fast ball movement, looking to take risks and break the lines, using the corridor and looking for inside movement, players rewarding the inside runner? There have been glimpses of this season and when we have done so we are rewarded. One issue all season has been our forward entry, with players electing to kick to a contest rather than lower their eyes and hit up a lead player running into space. Kicking to a contest will always be a 50/50 and even lower % when we kick to a 2 v 1. Centrals were successful in dropping back spares into our forward 50 resulting in even more poor delivery to our forwards than it what it has been al season. Why do we continue not to be pro-active and make changes to our structure to get scoreboard results from inside 50s? For example playing a high forward line with 1 forward in the box and pushing down the fwd pockets to the edge of the 50m arc allowing open space for a forward to run into space for a hit up lead? In this scenario when Centrals drop back spares then we need to even up with a player playing loose well in front of them so they become a target for forward entry and then have the ability to drag them down the ground to keep the space open in front of the box? Why don’t we adjust and make structural changes when something is not working rather than persist in the hope that it will?

Re: West v Centrals
From where I sit, any gameplan is useless considering how bad our skills are. The result of which is overuse of handball, sideways kicks across our back 50 (often until turned over or put ourselves under severe presure) or slow and sloppy delivery into the forward line resulting in yet more tunronovers and goals against at the other end.
Game plan is still unknown to me after 3 years with Gav, skills have not improved and now I'd say some of our better players are going backwards and the main issue - a complete lack league level talent. I find it hard to name 6 players that are at league standard- Anderson, Keough, Stevens and.......
Feel a chnage of coach is warranted at end of season though, feel for Gav as he has not had the cattle at all during his tenure but something has to give. We have become irrelevant and when lifetime bloods people are not seeing any hope on the horizon, the situation is pretty dire.
