Re: Would West
I think when you're looking for players to recruit, scorps, you're looking to fill our needs, which are currently quick midfielders, a key forward/ruckman, perhaps, according to posters.
Secondly, the club announced yesterday that Tucky, Webby and Ryan Dijksman had re-signed and we can expect other key signings soon, hopefully.
Therefore, to recruit, we have to have room in our salary cap, which can only come through players retiring or leaving.
Finally, better known delisted AFL players often come at a hefty price, which is beyond many clubs right now.
We're working hard on recruiting. It's not easy, but we're confident we'll improve our list in the areas we need to and also improve our depth.

Lee
I was told that he had a very close friend who played for Westies (not Birss) a couple of years ago
Not to say I don't agree with you about what they ask for
This bloke would handle C/H/B as I always say if you don't ask you won't know

Re: Would West
That's interesting, mate, I'll pass it on.
PS: I love reading about the players you and others bring up.
You never know if you don't ask, as you rightly say.

Re: Would West
Thanks Scorps, that's more the type of player who is more affordable.
I'll bring up his name next week and keep an eye on him.
Good work.

Re: Would West
West should go after Nick Wark. Played league at 16 as a backman for Sturt, played Amateurs last few years. Fantastic backman that played as a forward and kicked a 100 plus goals. Is a great kick and has a great mark. Six foot 2 and a strong build. If you got is fitness back up he would be a great player.

Would have loved this guy
ASERI Raikiwasa has told Port Adelaide he will pursue a new opportunity in League football away from Alberton in 2015.
Raikiwasa, 21, was the first player to join Port Adelaide’s contracted player pool at the end of 2013 when the club integrated its AFL and SANFL football operations.
Along with Sam Gray, who was eventually AFL-listed by the club during the last AFL Rookie Draft, Raikiwasa was one of a group of SANFL players to remain with the club in the state league.
But the key defender will play his football further up Port Road at Woodville Oval, with Port Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens finalising a transfer today.
Raikiwasa debuted with Port Adelaide in 2012 and has since played 33 League games over two years, but was unable to crack the senior Magpies outfit last season.
‘Bobby’ is the second player to leave the club’s contract list in as many weeks, but Port Adelaide’s SANFL Football Manager Scott Peters is confident most of last season’s group will stay in black and white in 2015.
“Bobby’s chosen to look for other opportunities in the SANFL and we wish him all the best with those,” Peters told portadelaidefc.com.au.
“It’s disappointing when you lose or let go of any player, but we’re hopefully going to sign most of our players to new deals for next year soon.
“We’re pretty confident we’ll keep most of that list together.”
Port Adelaide’s SANFL Academy commenced training last week.
