Re: West v Central at Elizabeth.
Jordan Boyle and Billy Glanville were both (suprisingly in my opinion) dropped from the senior side in round 3. They have both performed well in the ressies, Boyle topping disposals in his last 2 games. They have now both left the club.
Would be interested to know the reasons behind their exit but won't be holding my breath waiting. We still havn't received the president's report of the 2022 football review despite being promised at the members' meeting!
Transparency is not a big thing at Westies.

Re: West v Central at Elizabeth.
I think it's time we trimmed the leadership group back to about 3, rather than including players in it who aren't in our best 22 (C.Fairlie, Boyle e.g).
I think to give ourselves a chance against Central we need to put a hard tag on Grant. Maybe Redfern or Squire. A win here would signal some actual progress.

What, is it blowing a gale out at the Ponderosa, or what?!

21 inside 50s to 2. Not looking good, but we'll know by halftime. We are lucky only to be 21 pts down.RODH2 wrote:What, is it blowing a gale out at the Ponderosa, or what?!

Re: West v Central at Elizabeth.
Glad I drove out to Elizabeth, bloody pathetic so far. Yes it’s windy but central’s managed to kick the same score into it as we did with it.
Looks like boys vs men and the willingness to work hard both ways fair superior by centrals

That's the worst half of football I've seen us play since last week.

I couldn't watch the game today, but a pattern has obviousky developed.
Get smashed when it counts, then bang on goals when it's all over.
Norwood next week. They;te winless so far.

Re: West v Central at Elizabeth.
The first 3 quarters were a total yawn.
We refused to take the game on at any stage during that time.
The last qrt again when the game was all over was obviously better.
Can’t see us winning many games when your side lacks height all over the ground.
The clubs Key Position Stocks are a joke.

Re: West v Central at Elizabeth.
There was a lot to be disappointed about yesterday.
We kicked 2 goals in 3 quarters of football.
We had 2 inside 50 entries at qtr time. Ridiculous!!
Our skill level fluctuates too much during games.
For me , what really annoys me is seeing Central who for the past 4 years have been at the bottom like us, now get their act together and are the biggest improvers in the comp.
They recruited well over the off season and are reaping the rewards!
Whilst we will remain at the bottom for 2023…..
Well done to Josh Ryan yesterday. He held our backline together and was under siege for 3 quarters. We would have been 12 goals down at 3 qtr time without him!

Norwood next week. How desperate will they be for a win?
Let's not be the club that allows it to get its first win.

Re: West v Central at Elizabeth.
My central’s supporting mate reckons central’s recruited with bugger all budget, puts a lot of it to an off field appointment from North Adel- not sure who.
As for the bloods, another rebuild year (can’t recently recall any being more than that…). The lack of big bodied cattle yet again evident as we kick sideways more than forward much of the time, it feels like a lifetime ago that we had a Richardson or Simister at FF!
I don’t get to many games these days, yesterday was not giving me reasons to rush back. $20 to enter is genius too, especially seeing the overall standard of the comp has dropped and cost of living is going through the roof!

Torally understand that, Loppy. The SANFL have no idea in raising the cost to $20 for a product offering less quality.

Re: West v Central at Elizabeth.
I thought we were as bad in the first 3 quarters as we've been over the last 5 years. The simple ability to kick the ball to a teammate was beyond us. On those occasions when we did get the ball inside our forward 50, Liam Delahunty would often have it kicked over his head or several metres away from where he was.
We were brutalised in ruck by McCormack who easily accounted for Stevens and Corbett. We seemed to he helpless around stoppages. But worse, we (again) started flat, slow in our reflexes and without the intensity needed, and carried that tempo until 3/4 time. We could do worse than change up the pre-game routine to address that. We looked listless and uninterested.
The last quarter blindsided everyone and ridiculously we became a chance to win it. Joel Stevens got into the game a bit more and, just as against Port, we suddenly found players in space all over the ground. But it's hard to see what's actually changing to bring about the improvement.
Josh Ryan was again outstanding and is back to his best form. He Morrish and Park are doing sterling work in defence, as is Sherlock. Nicholls had a shocker. Kennedy is finding his feet at this level and Ellem looks a much better prospect in defence. We're not getting enough from our wingmen (Meline and Mulady) or our small forwards and
the continued selection of some underperforming players baffles me (and baffles Jordon Boyle too by the look of it). A loss to Norwood would really take the wind out of our sails.

Looks like all our coaches have gone out in sympathy with the Hollywood writers' strike this week.
