Re: West v Adelaide
I don't understand the lack of intensity/effort that was evident from the outset. Adelaide's first two scoring shots came so easily, and that was the pattern for the majority of the game. You can be an ordinary footballer (and we have too many) but you can still go hard at the ball in the air and on the ground, you can still chase hard, you can still stick a tackle, you can still be near your opponent when the opposition has the footy.
You could sense a lack of confidence in each other in the playing group, and could see the frustration in some players whose efforts dropped away as a result. But that doesn't excuse it, and it doesn't explain how we managed to play so coherently for so long against Port and South. That side of it baffles me. The other side of it is just down to talent, pace and size.
What I'd like to hear from the club is that those in control are as worried about all this as those of us who post on here are.

Re: West v Adelaide
The lack of effort in a number of games this year has been very evident.
We haven’t improved from last year.
Brad Gotch has a lot of work to do that’s for sure. Our year is over so we should be looking at 2022 now and promoting a couple of talls from our U/18’s.

We do not do communication well. I have raised this issue many times on this forum and in emails to management. Communication is always important, particularly when on field successes are few and far between. Probably the perfect time for another Members' Forum

Apparently we had a whopping 930 people attend the game on Saturday.
Yes, it was the Crows but that is alarming.
Our fans are not turning up anymore…..

A pretty disgraceful performance all round since the self-appointed Board took over, what, 2.5 years ago.
We seem to have gone downhill in every department, and good West Adelaide people have been side-lined, and others dis-spirited. What exactly ARE the positives from this situation.... anyone?

The facts speak for themselves.
The current Board is an epic fail at this point.

Since our premiership year of 2015 our on field performance has been nothing short of abysmal.
Our lack of talent is so obvious, recruiting can only take you so far.
I really hope our U/18’s can take the next step next year, we really need to find some young talent.

Whilst I dont get to many games these days, I have noted on the few occasions I have attended that the feel of the place has chnaged. It feels like the club has no soul or spirit as someone not too close to the inner workings.
I feel that the WAFC is now in a downward spiral and those who care the most have been shut out and disregarded when raising legitimate concerns. Communication and website etc is a mess and as inconsistent as on filed. I honestly wonder if there is a future for the WAFC 5 years from now as onfield performance is key to improving a lot of what is wrong, but shows we are falling further behind than catching up.

It would be interesting to hear from someone who voted for this new regime about how they think it's gone.

The old saying “The Fish Rots From The Head”
Are the people in our Key Leadership Roles, the right people to get West Adelaide out of the hole it is in?
