Website has a link to the board ‘retirement’s’ but not who is nominating

I do think it is the constitution that the Annual Report had to be released 2 weeks prior to the AGM

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
I have read the two constitutions that i have saved on my home computor and whilst it must be noted that both are very old and probably have been amended since i got them neither mentions anything at all about date of release for the annual report or notification of who has put thier hand up for election to the board.
I make a presumption that these matter will be addressed by the club this coming week.

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
According to my copy of the constitution, Section 17.3 says a report of the club's activities for the year, plus financials (i.e. annual report) shall be 'furnished' by no later than the end of January.

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
I'm advised that the Annual Report will be available online in the next day or 2. Apologies to members for the delay.
No election is required, as there were 4 nominations for 4 positions. The Board may look at appointing new members to fill the skill sets the Club needs for the future, as per the Constitution. We are also now encouraged to have more women on the Board to be eligible for future grants.

Well I'd rather be a couple of days late with good news than on time with bad news.

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Having a look at the constitution, I think there's an anomaly that needs to be addressed.
The requirement that members have to give notice of an issue to be raised as special business at the AGM at least 28 days before the AGM means that there will be years, like this year, where a member wouldn't be able to raise an issue arising from the Annual Report at that year's AGM, which is ridiculous. The issuing of the Annual Report needs to be more closely aligned with the requirement around special business so that members have time to digest the Annual Report and then give notice of anything they want to raise about it at the AGM.
If we're going to require 28 days notice for special business, then we need to require that the Annual Report is issued 28 days before the AGM.

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Aldo, i believe you make a fair and reasonable proposal for the report to be out for 28 days prior to agm.
Just for your information i have requested that the club consider putting pdf copies of west adelaide football club, westonians and past players and official consitutions on the website so all members can access and understand

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Annual Report will be online today.
blacky and aldo make good points. I will investigate why the Annual report is so late and I'll look at the provision aldo refers to.
Personally, I think 28 days notice is too long for a member to have to give notice. That could be changed to a much lesser time and I'll ask our legal Board Member for advice.

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Just from a quick read.
I’m the first to ‘pot’ the club when something is not right but well done on starting to turn the ship.
Whilst the report says a profit was made by the time SANFL grants come into play the club still did make a loss but certainly not to the same extent as other years ( from my quick reading of the report). Also the help the WWUT gives in reducing the rent helped a great deal.
Clearly there is more work to be done but I can see a future if these results continue. Well done and thanks to the Wolfpack members and to Lee and his financial team.

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Thanks for those comments, brodlach.
You are quite right in your quick summary.
The rent reduction from the Wolfpack kicks in now, so it helps further in this 2017/18 year.
The Income-in-arrears is the SANFL Land money, which is accounted for in the income, as it relates to 2016/17, but was received soon after 31st October.
Next year's land money is $275,000.
We still need to get more custom through our venue, so if posters and readers don't eat or drink at the club, give it a try and you'd be helping your club massively.

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
That SANFL land money, wasn’t there also $250,000 paid during the financial year also included in the financial year? To me that seems like “double dipping” as only one land payment is made each financial year?
brodlach- Number of posts : 442
Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Good question, but no, only one amount is included. One amount was included last year and this year's (the second payment to be received since it started) wasn't received until after the end of the financial year.
If you look at the Football Club income statement, you'll see only one income amount for $250,000.

I can assure you if hasn't been counted twice.
As do the auditors.
Very happy to PM you to explain it in detail.

Re: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
That sounds a bit defensive Lee, it was just a question.
I asked the question because it said there was only listing of $250,000 in the report but there is two.
