WAFC Website
What is the latest news regarding our website? Still does not seem to be updated for this season apart from the weekly teams update.

Re: WAFC Website
It would want to get a lot better pretty quickly. What I find hard to understand is that there are 34 weeks in the year when we aren't playing footy when we could get the website organised, and yet here we are 3 weeks into the season without a properly functioning one.

Fair go Aldo.....they got the Christmas holidays to consider and take you know. Sounds a lot like the the goverment department I worked for years ago. We liked to start a project slow, then ease up from there!

Aldo, i think we need to keep in mind who the club is worling with to get this site hint sanfl
Just maybe not clubs fault or preference
Main thing is step in rigrht direction and will be fully up and running in a short time

Re: WAFC Website
Old fella my local footy club has a 15 year old school boy running our website which is far better than the WAFC site over the past 18 months

Re: WAFC Website
We were not discussing, last 18 months the discussion was in reference to the late update

Re: WAFC Website
Well if it's the SANFL's fault, fair enough, but it's frustrating that we haven't had a really good website for some time. Three versions ago we actually had a history section and a record of coaches, captains, leading goalkickers and B&F winners across our history.

Re: WAFC Website
Being anzac day i thought of something i would like on the website and that is a list of those who played A-grade for westies and made the ultimate sacrife for Australia --- further there is a board in the players room that has this information and i suggest consideration be given to duplicating in hall of fame
One example of the top of my head is
Mark McGrath
P04442.002
Service Number: O44851
Rank: Pilot Officer
Unit: No. 79 Squadron (RAAF)
Service: Royal Australian Air Force
Conflict / Operation: Thailand, 1960-1968
Conflict eligibility date: Thailand, 1965-1968
Date of death: 3 January 1968
Place of death: Ubon, Thailand
Cause of death: Accidental (Flying Accident)
Cemetery or memorial details: Centennial Park Cemetery, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Re: WAFC Website
Mark was a very promising tall forward, playing in the early to mid 60's. I remember him when Johnny Taylor (?) coached us and Neil Kerley coached South.
RIP Mark.
My thoughts today are with my (and Noel and Rod & my sisters) late father - 2/48th Battalion, Rat of Tobruk, Alamein, New Guinea, Borneo.

Re: WAFC Website
Well we are nearly a third of the way through the season and the website remains embarrassing.
The lead item in the 'News' pull down tab is our Round 3 team selections, the 2nd item is our trial game selections against Glenelg.
We have no list or photographs or profiles of our senior players (every other club does), U18 players or the coaching staff.
We have no match reports for the senior grades.
We have no history section.
None of the links to facebook, twitter, instagram or youtube work.
Do we have the internet at the club?

Re: WAFC Website
The discussion reference the new club website made me have a look to see what was actualy on the site -- one little treasure i did find lmo was the player information booklet which i consider well worth a look
Some of the fees that player pay and some of the requirement on player shocked me a bit -- definitely proves they are playing for love of game and personal improvement
