Re: New Website
Well, it looks nice but I can only assume there's a lot more to be added to it, as it's pretty light-on for content at the moment. The history and records section, e.g., hasn't come over yet.

Re: New Website
Looks very average to me.. there was nothing wrong in the way the old website looked IMO. But what would i know?
And if you look closely at the darkened picture at the top of the new website, it's a photo of a decent crowd at Richmond but it's a photo of the Crows v Power Nab cup game earlier this year.

Re: New Website
Well, five and a half months on and there is still no history or records section. A few paras under "About WAFC" is a pretty lame effort. I know full well we have more pressing needs to attend to, but surely someone, sometime, has to get this site up to scratch. It's a dog's breakfast in my view.

I have to say I'm also not a fan of it.
It's on the list of things to improve and something will be done about it.

Re: New Website
No argument here either!
We should have all of our old data and histories available from the old site when we have someone with the ability to re-design our site in the future. Unfortunately that's not me - I love computers, use them well but cant programme

Re: New Website
Have to say, I stopped going to the website when it was changed to the new. It is very average, poor information on there and really changed for the sake of change. Considering the delays with getting it up and running, what was/is the benefit?

Re: New Website
The employee responsible for the new website is no longer at the club.
Website matters are being reviewd by our new CEO, John Kantilaftas and I'm confident he'll sort it out.
As I said, I agree that the new website has fallen well short of the required standard.
Two points, though. Comments about the President and the website are just wrong. These things are decisions by CEO's and the Board. The simple answer is that the new website just hasn't lived up to our expectations so far. Also, without gifts, loans and direction from the President and Finance Director over recent times, we'd be ........ er, in a great deal of strife.
Secondly, if there isn't major change after next week, then members will have to understand that stringent cuts will have to be made, which would include things like facebook, twitter and website news frequency. That's just the reality.

Re: New Website
Hi Lee,
good to have your insights. A common theme that seems to come up is the quality of some people employed or previously employed at the club to undertake various functions. I guess with money being tight, is it that the club is employing low quality people, is not screening people thoroughly prior to employing or something else? I imagine a fair amount of money went into developing the website, so to have a result like we have, can't be seen as a good use of money.
Not talking about volunteers here, paid employees.

Re: New Website
Fair enough comments, loppy.
You're right, we need to stabilise employment, as we've lost a lot of knowledge in the last few years.
I'm sure John will make good decisions.

Re: New Website
I'm pleased to say that there are continuing developments with our official website.
From a personal opinion, it's looking much better and I believe further work on it is continuing.
Well done to our new IT man, Scott.

Re: New Website
The interview with Beau Waters was fantastic.
He spoke magnificently and I'm sure if he decides to
stay in football he would make a great coach either
In a development role or as a senior coach
