WEST v South.
Thoughts?
Alex Scott to take Klemke's spot.
All players put on notice. If you can't kick go back to the reserves.
Maximum of two handballs per play.

Re: WEST v South.
I'm expecting an improved performance but another loss.
If we do lose, it will leave us probably needing to win 10 out of the last 15 games to make the finals, without yet having played any of the sides that finished in the top 5 last year.

Re: WEST v South.
I wouldn't expect us to play finals this year.
Last year we won 11 and lost 7 during the minor rounds.
We are a far inferior team this year.
I know it's 2 games into the season but the writing is on the wall.....

Re: WEST v South.
West Adelaide coach Mark Mickan has resisted the temptation to thrust key defender Adam Hartlett into his side to face South at Hickinbotham Oval on Sunday.
Despite staring down the barrel at an 0-3 start to the season, Mickan has named Hartlett in the Reserves as he prepares to play his first game of the season.
The premiership backman has been restricted by a knee injury which ruled him out of all trial games, ensuring he will need to build match fitness.
Instead, Mickan has called upon Chris Burgess and Jack Agostino, who have been added to the 23-man squad which must be trimmed by two before the bounce.
Defender Justin Hardy will play his 100th SANFL IGA League match while Josh Schiller and Tyson Slattery will front for their 50th appearance.

Re: WEST v South.
Good to see Graham Hampton and Murray Waite back, playing in the Development Team this week.
Should add some much-needed pace.
John Noble and Alex Stidiford are also coming along nicely and it will be a bonus to have Harts back.
Let's hope the League team will find its form this week.

Good to see us name Klemke on the bench and on the injury list. That will confuse them.

Time for the league side to stand up.
We are the Premiers and the players need to
have pride in their performance.
Good sides need to find away to win.

Re: WEST v South.
Three 70+ point defeats and we haven't played any of last year's finalists yet.
If you went into a coma at the end of 2014 and just came out of it now, you'd wonder why nothing had changed.

Re: WEST v South.
Another woeful performance.
When you lose by 10 goals or more three times in a row,
it tells me the WANT FOR THE CONTEST IS ZERO.
I don't subscribe to the 'Premiership Hangover' theory,
It's a Cop out in my book.
We weren't a dominant side last year, however we were very good in Sept.
I'm extremely disappointed at the effort shown by the players considering
the core of the league group are very experienced players.

Re: WEST v South.
In another lop-sided contest South thrashed an inefficient West Adelaide by 12 goals. Final score SA 22,6 to WA 10.7. In 3 weeks we have been beaten by 11, 12 and 12 goal margins by teams that finished outside the top 5 last year.
Klemke and Zac O’Brien didn’t play and young Chris Burgess and Oliver Johnson came in for them. Webb didn’t resume after half time and so Mason Middleton helped the big hearted Willets out in ruck
More of the same mistakes were there again, kicking out on the full, poor disposal with hand and foot, poor tackling technique, fumbling under pressure, etc, etc.
It all starts in the midfield with key players like Tuck, Stevens, Schiller, Porplyzia, Silverlock and Schmidt unable to get into clear space, constantly under pressure and struggling for a clean disposal. We need a big improvement from this core group.
Q by Q South kicked 6, 4, 7 and 5 goals. We managed 2, 3, 1 and 4.
South kept an open forward line and seemed to kick their goals with ease whereas the Bloods struggled against tight pressure when kicking for goal. As well, South had 3 key forwards, Eddy kicked 8, Haren and Overall 3 each while Middleton couldn’t get near the ball, Green is badly out of form leaving 184cm Fielke as out key forward. Slattery was stitched up by Eddy and poor Burgess ended up on the gun forward later in the game. Hopefully he learnt a bit.
Most of the play all day was in the South forward line and so Hardy and Caire were prominent. Haysman and Stubbs were useful and Stevens was probably our best in a very ordinary team performance. We had players getting the ball but they wasted their chances with poor disposal while South were clean and systematic.
South had 47 more kicks, 28 more handballs and took 50 more marks – this last stat the most telling. And how many times did we gift the ball to South by kicking out on the full or run foul of the new law? And how were South able to get rid of the ball so easily when we applied tackles? Why do we work the ball along the boundary when going forward when we should be kicking it to CHF or FF?
The Reserves were beaten on the last kick of the day. Hartlett played part of this match and helped out with the coaching in the seniors.

Re: WEST v South.
Random thoughts.
1. Picked under performing players and got what we deserved.
2. South played 3 talls who got 22 marks and 14 goals between them. When Webby died at the start of the second quarter we had Middleton as our only tall.
3. Well done to Willo. Battled hard all day.
4. Won the Hitouts and the clearances. If this stat is true then all the mids should be playing reserves next week.
5. Caires average kicking is rubbing off on Turner now.
6. New rule does not seem to worry South like it does West. Earth to West. If you can't hit a target don't kick the ball near the boundary line. It is getting beyond a joke now how many times we turn the ball over in a match.
7. Well done to Slatts to stay out there on 1 leg.
8. You know when Porps fumbles early on that you are in for a long day.
9. I used to like South fan's but you can just get stuffed now.
10. Poor turnout by West supporters today. No wonder we have no money.
11. At least if we fold and merge we know that the Bays and South have good players for us to join.
12. Save us Harts.

Re: WEST v South.
What a shambles. A premiership to bottom is what it's looking like. What have the coaches and fitness staff done preparing the side for 2016 since the Grand final? Not much by the look of it.
Where's Helbig?. What's wrong with Agostino? What's wrong with O'Brien the big named recruit who hasn't done a thing since joining us?
Another thing, when you lose 4 - 5 players from a grand final side, you replace them with similar or as close regardless. Centrals did it for 10 years and Norwood seem to cover their losses ok as well.
There is no one that i saw today in the reserves that would be up to league standard. 2003 - 2004 revisited.

Re: WEST v South.
I also blame anyone involved in recruiting.
We lost Beech, Keough, Snelling, Francis, Bonner, Milne and then Nelson, Watchman, Djiksman and a few others and all we got was O'Brien, Stubbs and Slattery.....
EPIC FAIL!!!
We deserve to be bottom!!

Your right Wolf Pack, but we started our spiral downhill accent in 2004, knocked off by North in the elimination final and hit rock bottom in 2005.
