Re: West v South
It's hard to know how the events of the past week will affect the players on Saturday but it would be an emotional win or, I suspect, a flattening loss.
South's marking forwards (Fitt, Freitag and Howes) will be our biggest worries I'd think.
Really hope we win this one, for the sake of the players, and to have the club at 2-2 after a very tough start to the season.

Agree with all of that, aldo.
First, thoughts with Sam and his family.
This is a very winnable game and our mindset will be crucial, as our pressure and will to win is a major asset.
Let's hope for a morale boosting win, but the events of last weekend puts everything into perspective.
Go the Bloods.

Re: West v South
A great day at the footy.
Can’t remember the last time we won by that much or kicked 17 goals in a game.
Our midfield was outstanding.
Kobe Ryan, Frost and Searle were brilliant.
Delahunty is a good forward and kicked 3.
Bramich did a lot of good work around the ground.
Patton was very good in the backline.
Unfortunately we will probably lose Ryan and Patton to the mid season draft on May 29.
Central next week will be a big test.
South are horrific.
I was looking forward to a steak sandwich at half time but the BBQ was closed.
What a joke!

Re: West v South
It's been a long time since we've put a team to the sword like that, and to do it with the week we've had and the injury list we've had and the travelling we've done is a huge achievement. It was great to see the players enjoying being comfortably on top of an opposition.
Our first half was pretty ordinary though, I thought we were a bit flat, understandably, and we consistently turned the ball over. There's a handful of players whose kicking really hurts us at times. And with our apparent strategy not to kick long to contests, but to find shorter range targets, that can leave us vulnerable at times.
Corbett was terrific and I think that's his best League game for us. He and Bramich controlled the rucks, had 40 disposals and 16 marks between them. Thackeray was a revelation, also his best league game, his clean hands and tidy ball use standing out especially in the first half. Kobe Ryan, Patton, Meline, Searle, Frost (especially across half back) and Minchella also had great games.
Again, the umpires slaughtered us. It's time for someone at the club to have a chat with the Umpiring Director.
This week against Centrals we'll need to guard against a letdown after the emotion of this week. It would be a huge win.

Couldn't get to the game, but will watch on SANFL Now.
A great win and it seems we're developing some good players as they mature.
AS always, let's hope we won't be hit with the mid-season draft.
Aldo, is Patton heading that way yet?
We have a wonderful coach, working miracles.
Finally, all our thoughts are with Sam.

Re: West v South
Outstanding team performance by the boys and congratulations to the coaching panel for their preparation. After the drubbing we got in the first game, the travel, the trauma of the past week and the injuries they were able to field a highly competitive unit.
But let’s maintain a sense of perspective. South were woeful. Centrals next week will be a different proposition altogether and will test our short game.
Dylan White and Jesse Thackery have only a handful of games between them but play with great maturity. They are the future of the club. Patton (12 marks) improves with every game. Thought he had broken his clavicle in the second Q but he came back on and played well.
Our midfield was awesome. Searle, arguably, our best player in an even team effort. Ryan, Searle, Frost and Thackery had 114 possessions between them.
Meline, our most consistent player , again impressed.
11 goalkickers . Loved the way we shared the ball around, Redfern handed off a couple as well as kicking two himself.
Let’s enjoy the win but start preparing for a testing contest next week. Bring it on. Go Westies.

I don't think so Lee. I don't think we'll lose anyone in the mid season draft.
But, at the end of the season, it would be nice to pick up Francis, Scully, Steele, Barnett and Carmichael.

Re: West v South
A fantastic win and the best for many many years.
Adam Hartlett can really coach, given the injury list and the very young group he has at his disposal.
I agree with Aldo, Corbett was Fantastic yesterday and he’s not even a genuine Ruckman, he’s doing a great job
Patton was outstanding and he will only improve.
I actually thought Thackerray was our best player in the first half his decision making and his ball use very good considering he’s only played 4 league games.
Bramich very good especially around the ground, it was great to have him and Corbett taking marks.
Frost very good on ball and off half back.
Morrish is a defender and should play there for the rest of the year. Mind you he had an ice pack on his calf at the end game.
Searle played his best game since joining the club.
It was a great win for the club given what’s happened over the past week. Add to that our injury list and our schedule, it should give us confidence for the rest of the year.
Centrals however will be the real test
