The West Adelaide Football Club is thrilled to announce the key signing of Kaiden Brand.

In 2012 Kaiden was drafted from West Adelaide via his home club of Berri in the Riverland. He was selected at Pick 66 by the Hawthorn Football Club. Kaiden debuted in round 7, 2016 against Richmond and in the same year won Hawthorn’s Best First Year Player. Over the next three years he was a regular member of Hawthorns’ strong defensive unit. Kaiden played 43 games for the Hawks before he was selected by Sydney as a delisted free agent in 2019. The last two seasons while at the Swans he played 5 games.

After signing today Kaiden told Football Director Derek Bonner –

“I’m rapt to be a blood again”

“I’m confident I can play a big part in helping work our way back up the ladder and gaining the respect from the comp that The Bloods deserve”

Kaiden has signed on for 2 years which clearly shows his commitment to the club.

We are excited that Kaiden is returning and welcome his partner Meg also to West Adelaide.

Kaiden is a good pick up. We need a tall key position player.

Yes, communication regarding the appointment of the new CEO and Kaiden's signing are positives, hopefully just the beginning of improved communication between the club and its members. If the club is to move forward it is imperative that everybody is on board and effective communication is essential to achieve this.
