I hope the Recruiters find a Player capable of being a TOP 10 Player
in the SANFL. A B/F winner, plus Play State Footy

Re: Jonathon Beech
Good luck to Jonathon,
I hope he gets the gig at the crows. While I love to see him in our side he deserves his chance and he is a quality player and person.
The SANFL however has never addressed the issue of players being drafted from our clubs and should allow additional salary cap entitlements to clubs that develop players from state league to AFL so that their quality can be replaced in the league teams that develop their juniors / seniors to rise to the next level.

Re: Jonathon Beech
Question guys, does Port or the Crows have to pay a transfer fee to a SANFL club if they pick up a rookie player that will most likely be playing in the SANFL against their original club?

Nothing for a rookie if in SA.... except they play against us if they stay in our state
The payment structure for drafted players is going to change going forward anyway but I'm not sure what new (if any) structures will follow with rookies

Well that's another example of the SANFL getting the AFL reserves teams structure wrong. The AFL team should pay compensation to a club to allow a replacement for the season for that player.
As the player is changing clubs and competing against his old club there is more reason to compensate than a player moving interstate.

Re: Jonathon Beech
No arguments from me
They shouldn't be allowed to play against their old club either

Re: Jonathon Beech
It is another example of the ridiculousness and unfairness of this new compromised version of the SANFL when one team can, in effect, take an opposition team's best player for themselves, compensation or not.
