Howard Branson

My brother-in-law, Life Member Howard Branson is fighting a rare form of cancer.

Howard was given a bad prognosis at first, but is set for a complicated, but hopefully successful surgery on March 9th.

It's a long and difficult operation, but we're all hopeful of a good result.

Let's get around him and his wife Linda, as long-standing members of the West Adelaide family.

Best wishes to howie and his family. Linda and howard have a long history of active support to the club notably within the mini league area and are great friendly west adelaide people always willing to have a chat with any supporter.

Unfortunately, Dad has been struck down with Peritoneal Mesothelioma. A rare form of asbestos poisoning. He is having tests now to see how he contracted this terrible disease. To assist in Cancer Research, I am running in the Bay-City fun run and raising some funds for Cancer Council SA. As I post this, Howard is having a 10 hour operation at the QEH.

Howard's operation didn't go as well as we all hoped. He had remarkably few days in hospital after such a najor operation and was in good spirits when we visited him.

I have to say he's been amazingly strong considering all the circumstances. He's home now and is OK and we're looking forward to a meal or two soon with him and my lovely sister, Linda, who has been a huge support, eve though she's had to often work double shifts as well as looking after Howard.

well just to let people know i have had another scan and nothing has really happened and the cancer has not spread so that is good news so i will hopefully be at more westies games this year in between traveling

well it has been a long time but my shealth status is i have had 12mths off chemo and still cant do to much as get out of breath but i am still on the right side of grass and having scan in march to see if the cancer has moved if not i will get 6mths off chemo

Well had scan last week and got results and have another 6 mths off chemo so still hanging in there but the cancer hasnt gone away just sitting there GO BLOODS
