New Heritage Group formed
Members may be interested in the relatively new Heritage Group which has been formed at the club to electronically catalogue & consolidate all of our club memorabilia.
The old Boardroom, upstairs near the Westonians room has been given to this group by the Board to use & things are progressing well. You will also notice additions to the Hall of Fame which will house various additional items of history & interest.
Amongst other willing helpers the Heritage group is headed up by 2 Board members. Vice President Graeme Barton & Mark Beswick. They have both done an enormous amount of work in a short period of time in collating, cataloging & valuing the outstanding array of fantastic memorabilia we have. Furthermore they have been able, with the support of generous sponsors, to purchase some very unique items to add to the collection including a very rare old original Guernsey with the WA logo on the front, a 1909 club badge & Neil Kerley's all Australian blazer. The badge cabinet in the Westonians room is also worth a look.
For those of you on this forum who show an interest in this area & would like to view some of the memorabilia please feel free to speak to either Mark or Graeme & I am sure they would be willing to show you through.
Also if any of you know of, or have any old unique memorabilia that you would be prepared to donate to the club they would love to hear from you.
The honour boards which are currently located in the rear foyer near the lift will be relocated to the front entrance foyer which will be far more appropriate.
Please make the effort to have a look.

Its a great group - We are hoping to start to catalog, scan, archive, and rotate displays over the coming years. Lots to do, but will be worthwhile and generations to come will benefit.

Mark, this probably isn't your area but is there any info on when club records and history will appear on the website? Since the last change to the site, some years ago, there isn't even a list of past ladder positions, coaches, captains, B&F winners etc.

Hopefully with a few things falling into place at board level, I can work on some bits and pieces for the website. I'll try and get the debutantes list back on soon and then an article or two from the old site linked.
I have been working with Bernie Conlen (What a club legend) - He has taken all those ideas from Aldo's post above - He is/has created boards and more for the Past PLayers Room - Some we are waiting on for delivery and installation - Keep popping your heads in at home games and have a look. What Bernie has done with the information is more than impressive.
