My team to play Norwood

FF Delahunty Corbett McCormick

HF J.Stevens N.Stevens Redfern

C Johnson K.Ryan Obst

HB Meline Minchella J.White

FB Morrish J.Ryan Patton

1st R Bramich Frost Searle
2nd R Corbett Thackeray J.Stevens

Int Thackeray, D.White, Maquire,Laudato

In Thackeray,Corbett, Obst
Out.May, Sinderberry, Kreger,

If Josh Ryan is out with a hammy then Sinderberry come back in.

I think Morrish is much better defender than a midfielder as he sets up so many plays with his decision making from defence.

I'd go with that lachlan, although I think Sinderberry is worth persevering with as a forward. He's certainly been more effective than Ned Stevens so far this season.

I think Tom Rundle will come in for Josh Ryan.
Was pretty good in the 2s with 15 disposals and 9 marks.

Our players seem to be kept out for longer than usual with injuries also.

Josh is a model of consistency and holds our backline together. We will miss his experience and direction badly. Pity about Dylan, he's coming along well.

If that side gets within 10 goals of Norwood our coach is a genius.

Can’t expect too much today.
Our squad is weaker than most teams at full strength and we probably have 5 or 6 first choice players missing.
Norwood are a very good side.
Expecting a shallacking today just like the 2s got last night.

Can’t fault our effort.
The boys are having a real crack.
Norwoods use of the ball is a lot better.
Shout out to the men in pink who are playing well for Norwood.

More injured players.
Looks like Frost has done a shoulder and Sam Davidson on crutches with an ankle.

today we lost with great honour

e lost by 13 points ---- around 50 years ago fos william wrote the port adelaide creed part of which i feel is relevant today -- quote --- Also we know that, should we after striving to our utmost and giving our everything, still not be successful, our efforts will become a further part of this Club's enviable tradition.

Finally, we concede that there can be honour in defeat, but to each of us, honourable defeat of our Club and guernsey can only come after human endeavour on the playing field is completely exhausted."

adam h another great coaching job

As a spectacle, it was horrible.
One of the worst games you will ever see!
Looked like watching a mini league game.
Just a roving scrum of players.
There were 219 tackles in the game. Absolutely ridiculous.
Norwood were far superior with their ball use and made fewer mistakes which won them the game.
They have the best ruckman in the comp who dominated and some really clever forwards.
On a positive note, we have a team that fights hard and gives a strong contest. Considering the players we have out, it was a good effort to keep it close.

It’s disappointing that football today is all about suffocating the opposition, rather than attack and score!!!!!

Despite being the better team, Norwood’s poor kicking kept us in the contest and with a little luck we still could have won. This says something about our endeavour, especially since we were impacted by injury in the last Q. I thought we could have rolled the dice late and swapped Sinderberry and Delahunty. Also, disappointed Rundle was left out as our backline was lacking the height of Josh Ryan. This said, Meline, on the last line was our best player. Still amazed that some players are picked every week but consistently contribute so little. The two White boys are impressive.

Yes Norwood could have won by plenty more if they'd kicked straighter but equally we could have won if we'd had a bit of luck, fewer injuries and a fair run from the men in pink. Since round 1 our physicality has been fantastic, the players are really throwing themselves into every contest. And for a defence that's missing, from last year, Josh Ryan, Callum Park, Tom Morrish and Kaiden Brand, to keep Norwood to 6 goals - not many sides will do that this year in fine conditions I reckon.

Meline's in great form in defence, Kobe Ryan really good again, Ned Stevens is dangerous and working hard, Corbett looks to have stepped up to this level now, and Searle was important too. Again, May and Maguire struggled.

A win against South and a 2-2 record would be a good start after a tough draw and tougher run with injuries. The players and coach deserve it.

As a spectacle the game was very very hard to watch, but in saying that our commitment for the contest was good.
We need to Recruit a couple of KPP’s that can mark the footy.
I think Ned Stevens in time will be a player he just needs help.

We also need a couple of midfielders with pace.

Morrish should be playing in defence he’s our best decision maker with ball in hand, he’s too slow to be a midfielder.

I would play Meline,D.White, J White and Morrish as our small defenders rotating them off the bench. Sam May should be dropped he doesn’t do enough and isn’t fit enough.
I thought Will Patton was good and i agree I would have moved Delahunty forward in the last qrt.
