Just phoned the council and was told that the redevelopment is still in the design stage and will need to be approved at a council meeting. Work should begin early next year. No doubt we will hear something from the club soon!

Maybe I missed it but did we ever hear what the club thought of the council's redevelopment proposal?

I'm not sure that the Club has told us what they think about anything, Aldo! They have restocked on covid masks tho, apparently.aldo russian wrote:Maybe I missed it but did we ever hear what the club thought of the council's redevelopment proposal?

Re: richmond oval development
They have started ripping out the terracing on the Northern side pocket next to the scoreboard.bludntars wrote:havent heard or seen any info on developement so has it been put in filling cabinet
Lots of temporary fencing has been put up from the southern city side pocket all the way around the ground to the southern old scoreboard pocket.
Looks like no one will be allowed on the outer for quite a while.

Re: richmond oval development
The outer is stage 1. All those factories on South rd will be demolished due to the upgrade of South Road.
That area behind that pocket where the terrace has been demolished will become a playground.
I was told there will be an entrance to the ground with a bridge being built over the creek behind the Northern goals.
Also the mound bar comes down next year as part of stage 2.
It's going to be a bit messy for a while.
