Financials
For those who don't want to wade through the reports, I thought I'd summarise:
Headline:
Thank you Governments for delivering SANFL Clubs a windfall due to Covid.
Income:
Naturally, all our usual trading income is well down:
Sponsorship down $175K, 26%
SANFL and Football Income down $156K
Bar down $164K, 30%
Functions down $243K, 52%
Gaming down $160K, 21%
Match Day Income down $71K, 37%
Expenses against some of these items proportionately down, of course.
The good news:
Jobkeeper received just under $1,100,000
ATO Cash Boost for employment $180,000
Land Divestment dividend from the SANFL $300K
'Sundry' Income from various sources - Grants, etc $220K.
I'll do expenses next post

Expenses
Honorariums went fropm $60K to zero
Player payments were up by a staggering $470K. Much of this would be due to Jobkeeper, but it does make you wonder about the rules for claiming Jobkeeper for players and Reserve players, perhaps?
We gained another $109K from valuing Memorabilia and wrote down a similar amount for reduction in value of gaming machines.
In short, our operations were smashed by Covid and the Government happily way over-compensated through Jobkeeper and wage tax grants.
That has delivered a welcome one-off boost to all SANFL clubs.

Re: Financials
Thank you for taking the time to explaining this in a manner that we can all understand Lee.
Makes me concerned that it is entirely possible that the next 12 months could be very difficult especially if the Government is not as accommodating.

Re: Financials
So just doing simple maths here ,our income was down $969,000 due to last year being such a disrupted year with Covid. This was more than offset with Government handouts and our share from Football park (I assume ) of $1,580,000.
Ok so once this Covid is all over and no more handouts plus the cash from footy park is gone on these figures we would have had a shortfall ,loss whatever you want to call it of $611,000? Please correct me if I am wrong.
So in my view we really need to increase our revenue stream going forward or we will be in real trouble.
