Re: West vs Sturt
Our retro round jumper, as shown on our facebook page, isn't actually the jumper we wore in the 80s. The 80s jumper had more vertical stripes. Anyone know why?

No, I thought the same thing, F10.
More late 70's, wasn't it, until Kerls started?

The vertical stripes were introduced by Fos when he started in 1974, and retained until the end of 1980. When Kerley was appointed at the start of 1981 he reinstated the sash. But yeah, the stripes were much narrower. This sort of defeats the purpose of the exercise for me. You can hardly be nostalgic for something that never existed.

Fair Dinkum
Do we practice our skills enough at training.
I have never seen a league side make so many mistakes in a half.
Basic stuff that this team cannot do properly🤬

Re: West vs Sturt
You couldn't question the players efforts today.
We had 104 tackles so the want for the contest was there.
Our skill level once again was poor, our turnovers were so costly. Our ball use going inside 50 was once again very ordinary.
We simply don't have enough good SANFUL players to compete with the top 4 sides in the Comp.
We need to find 5 or 6 quality players that make good decisions and who use the ball well under pressure.

Re: West vs Sturt
What I took out of today (other than pneumonia) was this one observation. Late in the first Q Karpany had a set shot for goal. He was on an angle but only about 15 mtrs out from goal. He kicked it out of bounds.
During the Q time break there were some kids kicking their footy around. A teenage girl has three shots for goal from the same point as Karpany and slotted a goal each time.
It just seemed to sum up our day really. Agree with all comments above.

You can practise them all you like, but if you keep doing the same thing over and over you'll get the same results. We need to help some of our players with their technique.

You can compare the jumpers a little with the two pics below, stripes were slightly narrower on the old jumpers and the red wasn't as bright.
Also well done to Josh Schiller (100 games) and Jack Agastino (50 games)
