It's quiet everywhere right now, but I can day we're much more active about recruiting than we've been able to be in recent years.

Since it appears on the grapevine we wont be getting any port players, James Boyd would be an unbelievable get for our club and pursuing him would give us the Norwood type midfield the legs have had over everyone the past few years

I know the transfer is hefty, but since we seem to be struggling getting recruits, he would be a five year player > After all, he came R/u B&F CDFC - Sees their coach made a call and it was his way or he'd leave.

Lewis for Eages is a three club player - I'd love him in a midfield with tuck, tuck, fielke, macreadie, and the others

Have to disagree wolves. Boyd wouldn't give us a Norwood-style midfield, in fact Laird specifically said they need taller mids to compete with Norwood, hence the decision to move Boyd on. Norwood's use of tall mids like Cachia, Zorzi, Suckling and Pfeiffer is their trademark, and one of the things that has made them hard to counter, hence our recruiting of Travis Tuck (and Mangan, who was earmarked to play on-ball).

BUT the norwood boys ran forward as well - our mids are much m ore defensive types and boyd is an outlet midfielder - anyway lets hope we hear some news on recruits soon

Which leaves Boyd having to compete in defence with someone twice his size.

Because our recruiting ban doesn't expire until Dec 31 I assume that until then we could only announce the 3 or 4 recruits we are allowed as replacements for "lost" AFL players. Mind you, that may be as many as we recruit anyway.

We can also recruit ex WAFC players that dont count towards the lost afl players

ie) Tuck is ex WAFC so he doesnt count, neither would Davis
