West vs Sturt @ Gods Country Richmond Saturday 29th
Well we finally have got off the bottom of the ladder. Can we beat the reigning premier and go 5 from 6 and keep our faint finals hopes alive?

What's the story with Green? He doesn't rate a mention in the injury list.

West Adelaide will make at least once change for its contest against Sturt on Saturday.
Coming off an impressive win against South, the Bloods have included speedy Murray Waite, Jack Evans and Oliver Johnson in their 23-man squad.
All three have been named on the five-man extended interchange bench.
Premiership midfielder Hugh Haysman will be sidelined for at least 2-3 weeks by a finger injury.

Great to see Jye Sinderberry in the under 18's. Still eligible for under 15's (I think), is a great kid. All the best go him, will go very well

Agree, Brodlach. He is one of a number of very young players who look to have a great future.

The weather was not that bad.
No rain and the wind died down in the second half.
The game was garbage. 5 goals in a game is not acceptable.
Teams are instructed to play the AFL way.
That is a total team defence where every player can be at one end of the ground.
The problem is that at this level, the skills and fitness are down and we get a lot of horrible boring football like today.

The endeavour was there, however the skill level wasn't.
Wilson I though played his best game for the club.
We have had injuries to key players all year and that hasn't helped our situation in 2017.
We must ensure that everyone is on the track at the start of Preseason So there fitness base is undoucbted going into 2018.

If you knew you were playing the reigning premiers who had won 9 of their past 10 games and you were able to keep them to 3 points at Q time and be within ten points at 3Q time then you would probably be happy to take that.
Especially with a very inexperienced side that had only 7 players left from the 2015 premiership team and 9 players who had played 15 or less games. If you out-tackled the more fancied opposition and restricted them to only eight goals then that’s not too bad.
Unfortunately, in doing all this, we kicked our lowest score of the year, we were beaten at the stoppages and comprehensively thrashed in the marking department (118 to 66 marks).
It was a scrappy game that turned on a battle of defences. Our best players were all backmen. Wilson (10 marks) and Caire were terrific. Wasley-Black and Burgess were strong all day. Midfielders Kaine Stevens (10 tackles) and Schiller were in everything.
In the last Q the pressure took it’s toll, our intensity dropped and we let Sturt build a winning lead. Sturt were always cleaner with hand and foot and more efficient in their ball movement.
Our Ressies and U18s both lost in a grim day for the club but we’ll bounce back and the 2 week break will provide time for some of our injured players to return.
