Be patient Lachlan. The recruiting committee have been talking to prospective players for about. 6-7 months but need to concentrate on needs as a priority.

Those who fit our needs have to make a huge decision if they are from interstate. Many are being offered good money to stay home where they are settled, live & have a job.

Money is not the only issue for us. Accommodation, relocating costs, employment and sometimes a girlfriend/partner all come into the equation so it is extremely difficult. Plus we want to try and get players that want to stay for at least a couple of years to make the effort & investment worthwhile.

Nothing can be broadcast until any deal is done but rest assured that plenty of effort has been & continues to be made.

Hopefully the club lands a defender who can play league footy straight away.
Harts is our only big defender and if he went down we are in trouble.
Hardy could be an option but I'm not convinced he can hold down full back all season.
Hopefully Klemke is better next season after a full pre season.

If Slatts doesn't want to play for a base salary then he should play for the Bays.
Hommy and Ando are now league players and we have more in the reserves to develop. Schott, Favretto, Watchman, Vick and Agostino could all become league players next year.

Michael Hagan from the NT has signed with the bloods
He is an outside mid with genuine pace.
He will certainly add some Much needed leg speed
to our squad.

Well done recruiting committee

Hagan looks like a great pickup by the club. If he turns out like our last NT recruit I will be happy. Haysman, Caire, Agostino and now Hagan give us some great pace. Shocked Shocked Shocked

We are still a long way behind all other clubs in terms of recruits.
Is it because of dollars????
I would have thought players would want to play for us.
We are the reigning premiers and we had 6 players taken in the draft which would have to be close to a record.....

maybe we are but we had to wait until the rookie draft to know where our salary situation was at. as our juniors do not affect our cap much. bye the way congratulations to all our players. just wished that some were not drafted as rookies but on there main list instead. see you all sunday.go the BLOODS

I remember Norm Hagan had real pace and a lovely kick. I'm sure he was a left footer.
Michael seems a really level headed kid and he looks to have some silky skills.
It's great we're developing a link with the Territorian footballers.

It's a bit of a worry, we haven't replaced Keogh, Beech and Milne really. Francis is another tall from last year so our tall stocks need urgent replenishing I'd have thought.

It's of real concern we have been unable to recruit any meaningful players other than Stubbs.
We have lost some quality talls to the draft and to date they haven't been replaced

Spot on Aldo.
Every club has signed a player that was on an AFL this year except for us.
Only 2 recruits announced.  What is going on??

I don't think it's for want of trying, and not many quality talls have been signed by anyone.

We lost six. The ones that got drafted in the first draft we never had.
Keough gets replaced by Hardy or Favretto.
Snelling was special but still gets replaced by Agostino or Hommy.
Beechy gets replaced by Stubbs.
Milnes loss is as big as any of the above.
We are going to be better this year than last with our gameplan so all is good.
I expect us to be dominate this year and improve our minor round win / loss ratio. Shocked Shocked Shocked

I think we still need a key defender.
Take Beech, Keough and Milne out and we are significantly weaker.
ST, I'm not sold on Hardy or Favretto as key defenders.

I don't like bein negative but our outs are a lot bigger then our ins. We can spin it any way but that's the truth.
Down back, is a big hole. Fingers crossed hardy can stay fit n can help that.
Up forward, beech gone. Gonna make green n fielkes job very hard as beech got best defender each time.
We need something cause I feel we won't get top 3 arm looking at what other clubs have done

At the start of last year, nobody would have thought our premiership team would contain Snelling, Haysman, Wasley-Black and perhaps Riley Milne, or that Agostino, Brind, Homburg and Anderson would just miss out.

Mark Mickan is now a special development coach, also.

We're still trying to tecruit, but key position players are difficult to get. We were close to Jordon Bourke and others, but all clubs are finding it hard to tecruit the right talls.

I'm again with ST Shocked I'm very optimistic about next year.

Nick O'Brien would have been a great pickup but I can't get too excited by anyone else that the other clubs has picked up. Lots of recycled players that are average at best.
Big money spent on defenders is a waste of time. Shocked Shocked Shocked

Perhaps someone could name the key defenders & key forwards in the SANFL last year, other than us.

Outside Eddy, Wundke, Ainger & Alleway up foreard, not much I'd say.

Ditto for defenders?
