Re: 2015 trial games
A short internal trial was played tonight. I didn't see all of it, but it looked good.
Of the new players, Errin Wasley-Black looked very promising and Corey Solly continues to show out strongly.
Young Will Snelling dominated early before leaving the ground with a cut.
Several senior players didn't play, but Shannon Green was excellent again. Ryan Willits looked as if he hadn't been away and Brad Helbig will add plenty of grunt to the midfield.
Ball movement was good and it's a happy camp.

Re: 2015 trial games
Every year at this time we are going to be a real threat for the flag. Then the real season starts and it is back to reality. This year I don't want to hear about it. Don't care if we are buzzing with enthusiasm or looking like hacks. Just wake me up at the beginning of the season and I will make up my own mind by round 5.

Of course, mate.

Hang in there Lee. I can only speak for myself but I reckon there are many other supporters who also appreciate your updates.
I've been a supporter/member for a looooong time and in my view communication from the club has never been better.
Keep up the good work.

We will keep members up to date on the progress of the Unit Trust as soon as we can.
At this stage, we're very pleased how it's going.

Re: 2015 trial games
When nothing gets said about how training is going the club gets put down because of lack of communication, when we are given info. some are still not happy.
We all know it is only training and no premiership points are won, same as practice matches but its still good to hear how the boys are travelling---Hang in there TAARS. Good report Lee.

Thanks all. No drama with TAAARS comments, we all know what he means, fair enough.

Re: 2015 trial games
Look folks, I didn't intend any attack on Red at all and think he is doing a good job communicating with the members as all board members should. So well done Red! I am just a frustrated old fart that's all. I hate what the SANFL directors have done to our league, I hate it that we have both AFL reserve teams in it and that MY club voted FOR it. I hate it that they sold out to Channel 7 and that they are only interested in he revenue for them from both the SANFL and the advertising. I hate the fact the season has been shortened to suit the AFL. I also hate the fact we haven't won a bloody flag since 1983! I am sick of being told how good we are looking in January only to discover otherwise in May. Will I still turn up,buy a membership this year like all the past years? Almost certainly I'd say because in addition to being frustrated I'm also bloody stupid!

Re: 2015 trial games
I knew that, TAAARS, mate.
We feel the same, mostly.
My trial report didn't suggest anything about our prospects this year, of course.
Posters may be interested to know that we're likely to have another trial against the Eagles next Friday week, probably at City Mazda.

Re: 2015 trial games
I agree with everything you say here TAARS, the one big thing that pisses me of is that the ferals have two sides in the SANFL.
Correct me if I am wrong here anybody, but aren't the maggots the power's B grade side, if so why do the maggots have a B grade side also, effectively the power have two B Grade teams in the SANFL. How long is this farce going on for. The crows only have one B Grade in the SANFL.
I am very disappointed with that setup and it needs to be addressed by the SANFL for next year, one maggot side only, not two.

Re: 2015 trial games
Can tell your passionate about this subject Testy and TAARS as is quite a few others on this and other footy forums.
Could it be that us Bloods supporters wouldn't be so focused on these 2nd teams if we were winning and could be confident we were good enough to consistently beat them?
I am betting in 83' we wouldn't have given a Toss about them and have got great delight in kicking them off the park!!

I don't care what happened in 83', I think you missed my point.
We played both the maggots and the crows twice last year and so far it is one all.
My problem is with the maggots having two sides in the SANFL, both of these teams are reserve sides. I am over the AFL sides being in our comp. they are there and that is it but the SANFL have to get this inconsistency righted.
Any way back to the subject, get along one and all to see the boys in action next week.

Re: 2015 trial games
testy I agree with your points on the SANFL and its short sighted politically run agenda. John Olsen is a proven seller of assets and not a forward thinker. The SANFL is running the course to obscurity. Once the 2 AFL clubs are completely dominated by interstate players and SA footballers are spread across the land, the SANFL is a second string crap competition that does not attract the best footballers outside the AFL, the VFL will have achieved its agenda.
Off the point I know but the current back slapping board of the SANFL will go down in history as the destroyers of our great competition.

Re: 2015 trial games
Not really on topic but it'd be good to see some photos from training regularly go up on the website or the facebook page, particularly of the new players.

Re: 2015 trial games
We played another short internal trial last night.
Errin Wasley-Black was again good, along with Will Snelling, Hugh Haysman, Kaine Stevens and several others.
Hard to pick up all the players, so I would have missed a lot.
