I am sure Shane Birss is going to play in the country--Country club in Victoria that is coached by Luke Nathan

Dom is a great person, Scorps, I agree.

We have no money and I think the price Dom would deserve would be far out of our range.

Could the club approach the guy from paralowie who won $15,000.000 to coach the club and make a small donation of say $1,000.000.

Just catching up with the previous 3 pages worth.
I can back lee up - We have had players suggested from ex league players and have signed one for next season as a result of a past player sending him our way... I wont say who it is as this should and will be announced by the admin at a more appropriate time.

As mentioned above, we are limited by funds for the aggressive recruiting many posters want BUT Glenelg proved this year that many so call stars or ex AFL players dont come over with the right mindset and are not always the answer.

If anyone sees a gun player in a country or amatuer league final, by all means, make yourself heard - We all want the same thing for our great club

Turns out Glenelg finished the year as the 2nd worst performing team in the league this year.

Reckon there is a lot more to be learnt from our own failings.

I suggest we look at employing just one GM and reintroduce a full time coach.

Isn't it funny that Norwood has been broke for years, got a no name coach because of funds and coudn't recruit because of salary cap breaches yet can they find a winning team. Sounds alot like us except for the level of professionalism.

Their pokie venue is 400 k plus in front of ours with hardly any overheads to run compared to our base
They have more members and sponsors of affluence than us.
I would also swap zones with them especially after what we just got handed out
It's true they did hit some major hurdles a while back owing to mismanagement but they are looking at a major spending revamp at Norwood oval

ST, Norwood recruited a number of Sydney Swans players and Nathan Bassett was hardly a 'no name' coach, neither is Ben Warren, who inherited a premiership team.

Norwood then recruited more AFL players and busted the salary cap. They then had their penalties reduced to allow them to recruit, as you might remember. They are also backed by some wealthy supporters, which is their good luck. As Mark has said, they have a number of such advantages over us.

We have come 2nd and 3rd to them in the last 3 years, with no money for recruiting,which has been a mighty effort and a credit to Andrew Collins, the club and the players. Indeed, supporters here also dipped in to help recruit, for which the club remains grateful.

The title of this topic is 'What would you do?', looking for suggestions.

Perhaps whatever we do, it wouldn't satisfy you. I hope that's wrong.

We might even get you to make Westies your First Team.

To update posters and readers, there will be a Board meeting early next week.

After that, members will be updated on progress on several important initiatives which we hope will return our club to financial stability.

Wait for a few announcements 2nd team where the current board will present the whole truth of our position

Look forward to you assisting the club as we move forward with our goals to make sure we are strong financially as we work both off and on field to make us the most transparent board in the league. That way members of our club know where we stand what we have to do in the short term and where we have to get to in the near future

You have been warned many times before by other Moderators for the same thing.

All of the things you mentioned were before my appointment to the Board.

Others have contributed positively, you just seem hell bent on trying to sabotage a genuine attempt to be inclusive.

Yes it is so common for some to forget the good that people do for the club, its much easier to sink the boots in and be negative. Oh and they never put there hands up to help,just constant harping.

With Second Team being banned from this forum by a member of the West Adelaide board, freedom of speech has been thrown out of the window... Ok, being called a knob is not on, but how about you ask Second Team to retract that statement before placing a ban.

Whispy, I started the Bloods Forum many years ago to encourage people to have their say. I've funded it since then and it's rare for anything to be censored. I'm only one of 3 moderators and ST is welcome back in a few days.

Abuse isn't allowed here and isn't necessary.

I agree about personal abuse on a forum should not be tolerated...but in Second Teams defence, i can't see where he actually did abuse anyone apart from calling the board knobs....

It's nothing to do with abuse of me, I can handle that. ST has been warned many times. Calling volunteers 'knobs' isn't on.

Can a club in such a precarious financial status and with such poor performance on the field justify 2 General Managers?

Success on the field will lead to an improved financial result eventually and a more sustainable business model. Please invest more in coaching.

Don't know if this the right place but I would have our van that we put all the gear put the major sponsor and club logo on it most other SANFL clubs do
