If we don't get anymore players what do people think our team will look like this season.
Without injuries we should once again be competitive.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

I think Mason Middleton can fill one of the key positions, looking good at training.

I'll try to pick a possible team, but reckon lachlan and brodlach might beat me to it.

Had a crack at the team. Thoughts? Anyone I missed?

Still .. Hardy.. Fielke
Stevens .. Webb.. Beech
Silverlock .. Schmidt .. Newell
Birss .. Hartlett .. Caire
Hayes .. Carter.. Green

1st Ruck - Nelson, Tuck, MacCreadie

Interchange - Thompson, Bricknell, Ezard, Kirk, Homburg, Hill, Anderson, Fisher, Schiller, Favaretto

Hartlett not to play early rounds so Kirk to play in his place.

My team would be

Brodlach like your team. Just thought I would play Hardy down back due to the number of players we have lost from there

FF Keough Still Fielke
HF Beech Webb Stevens
C Anderson Schmidt Silverlock
HB Green Hardy Ezard
FB Caire Hartlett Hayes

1StR Nelson Tuck McReadie

Int Newell,Birss Favretto Bricknell

I have selected Hartlett but Kirk to take his place for the first 3 games.
I would like to see Ezard eased back into the league side and I think he can play a key role from half back
Also Favretto to start from the first match can play on ball or half back

Young Durdin could also fill a role down back

Ben Fisher to start in the ressies for me and to show us he really has the hunger

You would think that with that forward line and quick ball movement that line up would trouble most teams.  Shocked Shocked Shocked

I think that's well worth exploring. He needs to be more physical and get outmarked/outpositioned a bit less, but he's very mobile, the right size, a beautiful kick and he might be able to play that floating spare defender role. Good suggestion I reckon.

As I said before what about Middleton having a go at C/H/B during the trails

F/B or R/B is he at training (Middleton)

and could we have a update in who has gone and arrived Please

Evert body has Hartlett in the side he won't be there for 3 games

so that means 4 of our best Defense player's won't be there round 1

Scorps

I have selected Hardy at CHB due to the fact we have lost so many players from our defence. Kirk to play in Harts place for the first 3 games.

Middleton to play forward I think if Keough or Still don't measure.

Big years required by Still,Keough and Nelson. Nelson needs to show more aggression. Be more physical at boundary throw ins and stoppages
Badly need another ruckman with the departure of young Simister. We can't go into the season with only 2 genuine ruckman. We need back up in the ressies

Andrew Hayes also needs to deliver given his past two years.

We've struggled to kick goals consistently in recent years and we've recruited a Ken Farmer Medallist - I think we need to play him in attack. And I think playing Hardy forward makes a statement that we're going to be more attacking this season, which we need to be, right from the outset.

I don't understand why so many people want Webb to play CHF and Nelson in ruck. Webb has not shown himself to be a consistently successful forward, and is not good enough at ground level to play that position. He's been far more effective as a ruckman than a forward and is, I think, our best ruckman. I would actually think about playing them the other way round, with Webb rucking and Nelson as more of a permanent forward pocket. We don't really have a ready-made CHF and I can see Keogh, Beech and Hayes all getting a run there at different times.

I also think players with good foot skills are going to be highly valued, so Favretto would probably be in my best 21 at this very early stage.
